A Dutch-Belgian mix-team Flamelux were the ones left standing at the end of the fourth and last MSI Beat it! European Open qualifier, defeating Swedish team highgrade in the final 2-1 (16-19 on de_mirage_ce, 16-5 on de_dust2_se & 19-16 on de_train_se). With the cup taking place on a Friday, several notable teams from previous qualifiers did not take part in the final one, so it was Clan-Mystik and iNation who were considered main favorites for the first place this time. Some mix teams consisting of known players in the scene were also expected to make waves, such as qualifier #2 finalists Vikings, Finnish TMVG, but also yesterday's surprising semi-finalists highgrade from Sweden. However, despite getting officially strengthened by Dan "apEX" Madesclaire late last night, Clan-Mystik found themselves eliminated in the very first round due to losing to a Russian mix-team CopcepbI. Turmoil ensued as the Russians were removed from the tournament due to allegedly using a player who was suspected of cheating in yesterday's cup, but the decision was later overturned as they were found innocent. That completely opened up the upper half of the bracket, which saw Hungarian side THiS iS reach the semi-final along with Dutch-Belgian mix Flamelux led by Chris "chrisJ" de Jong.
Flamelux made light work of their opponents and moved on to the final after a 16-3 win on de_mirage_ce. Awaiting them were last night's semi-finalists highgrade, who managed to upset the runners-up from yesterday, iNation, 16-10 on de_inferno_se in the other semi-final. In a final match that went to three maps and had two overtimes, Flamelux prevailed despite dropping their map pick at the beginning, 16-19 on de_mirage_ce. They came back and won 16-5 on de_dust2_se and then 19-16 after overtime on the decider de_train_se, with de Jong putting up big numbers in all three maps.
